Studio 231

In August of 2018, I launched Rowan University’s first every all inclusive makerspace from a room with a few cubicles, to a fully equipped facility. Studio 231 now services over 500 students every semester from across campus. The space has recently gained attention from the higher education community for our integration of custom experiential modules to Rowan’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Curriculum.

In 2015, I started a new clinic project out of the college of engineering at Rowan University. Since then, we’ve raised > $17,000 in research & development grants from sources including Rowan University, ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Philadelphia Section, Venturewell, as well as multiple Private donors.

Air Engine

As the capstone project for my Thermal Fluid Science class, I designed, manufactured, and optimized a dual-acting, reciprocating piston compressed air-engine. Along with a group of 3 other peers, we achieved a performance of 1.49 HP at an input pressure of 85 psiG. This was the highest performance engine in over 10 years of running the project.

Every year, the Rowan Chapter of AIAA (American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics) competes in the world's largest university rocket engineering competition - IREC (Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition). The 2018 rocket was the Rowan team’s most sophisticated design to date. The transfer section joins the rocket at the center and is the most critical structural component of the vehicle.
